The implementation of a new "store" information system requires a formal methodological framework. JLR has developed a practical and operational methodology adapted to the Retail business and the size of the projects for which it is responsible. The challenges are based on business knowledge and IT skills to address all issues. Considering that in the case of a simple project, it is essential to respect an often limited budget.

The method's first step consists of an audit of the needs. This analysis involves understanding the company's organization and formalizing management principles. This phase leads to the drafting of a design file which must be validated by the contracting authority, i.e. the Customer. 

In this design file, we find the following elements:

  • Analysis of the "processes" allowing to define the software configuration, the design of the screens and documents,
  • Specific adaptations to be carried out (plug ins, additional modules,...)
  • Interface's analysis (if necessary) to be carried out when the "point of sale" system must be integrated with other existing systems (ERP, production, BI,...): Flow, data, historical data transfer...
  • Technical architecture in order to specify suitable hardware models and connection types.

This audit phase takes shape through of functionals and/or IT thematic workshops in which the client actively participates.

Once the file has been validated by the Project Committee, the project can then be implemented.

Today JLR has experience of many successful projects in different retail businesses.

  • A luxury brand with around 30 points of sale in 5 European countries has trusted JLR to integrate the RETAIL PRO solution into their production management tool; it has also implemented the Report One solution to obtain the dashboards and statistics necessary to manage the activity.

  • A brand in the Outdoor segment with more than 80 points of sale in more than 15 countries on all continents continues to deploy RETAIL PRO in its store network. JLR was in charge of managing the integration with SAP and defining settings standard version. JLR is also in charge of coordinating the international deployment in collaboration with about ten Businesses.

  • A franchise company with 50 points of sale in France in the office equipment sector entrusted JLR with the marketing and deployment task of the XLSOFT solution in its franchise network. JLR supplies each site with the standard hardware configuration defined and has carried out data exchanges between the headquarters and each store.

  • A regional chain of 10 shoe stores chose JLR to install a collection and inventory management solution in its points of sale and to integrate its merchant website with its multi-store stocks management.
  • A sales space dedicated to telephony with more than 15 workstations has chosen JLR to integrate the chosen sales management system with Microsoft AX ERP.

  • Several hundred independent retailers have trusted JLR to help them set up their point-of-sale solution, taking into account their particularities...
