PaaS is the model for companies that want to control the deployment of their applications or that want to develop their own applications.
Software as a service (SaaS) is the ultimate cloud model, where the cloud provider maintains: applications, runtimes, SOA integration, databases, server software, virtualization, server hardware, storage, networks. The company can access all its applications and services through a web browser and a workstation.
Cloud computing can also be seen as an economic model for the consumption of applications and services: they are consumed and paid for on demand (by user, for example) and no longer acquired through the purchase of licenses or services.
